Sydney truly is one of the best cities in the world, with long, balmy summers and mild winters, photographic rock pools and beaches, trendy cafe’s and restaurants and some of the friendliest people on earth – if Australia is ‘God’s country’, Sydney is the pearly gate.
Having grown up in South Africa and studied in Cape Town, a weekend in Australian’s wine country was top of the list for a weekend away. Hunter Valley is 2.5-3 hours from Sydney so perfectly manageable for a weekend (long weekend if possible).
A perfect weekend away in Australia can be found in the city of Melbourne at just over an hour flying time from Sydney. With a combination of coffee, creativity, culture and coast, I know we’ll definitely be back soon.
Jervis Bay is a must visit. I couldn’t believe that this slice of paradise existed just 2.5 hours from Sydney. Whether you leave after work on a Friday or give yourself a full week – Jervis will deliver natural coastal beauty aplenty.
